About Me

A Voice for Every Family in Peel

I am Shashi Singh. I am your neighbour, a proud Peel District School Board parent, and the mother of two children. It is an honour to be running for Peel District School Board Trustee for Wards 6 & 11.

This campaign is deeply personal to me. As the parent of a child with special education needs, I have experienced firsthand the challenges families face. I have had to advocate for my own child to receive the supports and resources they needed at school. I understand the uncertainty, the frustration, and the determination it takes to ensure your child gets the help they deserve. Those experiences have strengthened my commitment to standing up for every student and every family.

As a parent, I understand the hopes and concerns we all have for our children. Like many of you, I want every child to receive a high-quality education in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where they can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

Today, our education system faces many challenges. Students need stronger academic support, better mental health services, safer schools, and classrooms where every child feels valued and included. We must also do more for students with special education needs. They deserve timely assessments, appropriate resources, individualized support, and the opportunity to succeed alongside their peers. I know how important these services are, and as your trustee, I will work tirelessly to ensure every child has access to the support they need.

I also believe that every dollar in our education budget should be spent wisely. Funding must prioritize what matters most — classroom learning, student well-being, special education, school safety, and the resources that directly benefit students. As your trustee, I will advocate for responsible decisions that always put students first and ensure our schools have the tools they need to help every learner succeed.

If you are a public school supporter living in Ward 6 or Ward 11, you can vote for Public School Trustee on your municipal ballot. During the municipal election, you will vote for three representatives — your Mayor, your City Councillor, and your Public School Trustee. I would be truly honoured to earn your support and your vote.

If you're not sure whether you live in Ward 6 or Ward 11, please check the ward boundaries. Every vote matters, and together we can make a meaningful difference for our schools and our children.

I am committed to listening to parents, supporting teachers and school staff, working collaboratively with our community, and always putting students first.

Together, we can build stronger schools, provide better support for every learner, and create a brighter future for the next generation.

Thank you for your time, your trust, and your support. I would be honoured to serve as your Peel District School Board Trustee for Wards 6 & 11.
